Kawartha Lakes Fishing

We admit when it comes to past Kawartha lakes fishing we were the fun family type fishers for many years. The type that goes after dinner with grandpa, grandma, mom, dad the kids and who ever wanted to tag along for an evening of entertainment. On Pigeon Lake by Nichols Cove we could fish for "Panfish", Perch, Sunfish, Rockbass and Crappie. Now you need a licence to fish, click here for more details.

Ice fishing on the Kawartha Lakes is now official. Click here for more detail.

The Kawartha Lakes is renowned for yellow pickerel,
maskinonge, smallmouth and largemouth bass. In addition, they support large populations of panfish such as rock bass, yellow perch, sunfish and bullheads. One of the biggest fishing draws here to the Kawarthas is walleye. Click here for some tips on recommended fishing lures to catch that big fish.

The lakes in the Kawarhas have some of the best warm water fishing in southern Ontario.

Generally, fishing in the Kawarthas tend to be rather crowded at certain times of the year especially in the spring so book your motel, cottage, B&B, camp site early. Or you can always find someone willing to let you crash at their place.
