"A winter perk living here is the
Kawartha lakes skiing."

One of the perks of living here is the Kawartha lakes skiing. Just after finishing bagging all the fall leaves, it is always a comfort to see the first snow fall.

This year the skiing season was very short. Nearing the end of March and with little snow left on the ground, we drove to Devils Elbows to enjoy the last days of the winter season.

To our surprise the Canadian Army was at Devils Elbow

Watch the video to the right. The Canadian Army was there. They were just packing up their gear after doing a gun demonstration and how they survive in our cold winters.

An experience we will never forget was one winter we had an exchange student here from France. Together with another french exchange student and neighbourhood farm boys, they built a huge snow park in our back yard.
