The Kawartha Mennonite Life

We totally respect the Kawartha Mennonite life here. The winters here are harsh and long. In the early Sunday mornings, when the temperatures are below -20°, we would wave to the excited young children sitting all snuggled under their blankets in the back of their parents black horse drawn buggy, as we'd sit in our warm luxerious VW. We'd see all the buggys gather at differnt homes for their church service.

Sometimes when we drive along heights road we'd see them often on foot, on a bike or just walking. Sometimes we'd see their horse and buggy pass by our home in highway 7!

In the summer time the mennonite women service the city tourists with their goodies on the corner of Pigeon and Dundsford road. Across the road would stand their beautiul black horse grazing in the farmers field.

The mennonites way of life it very interresting. Soon more will come to this page about them.

We could only take a photo from the back.

a piece of their spirit is taken.
