Winter Fun: PolarFest presents the annual Nature in Winter Guided Night Hike at 6:30 p.m. at the Lakefield Marshland Centre (64 Hague Point, Lakefield). Kick off the festivities with opening ceremonies followed by a family friendly hike. Guided by Mike McMurty, from the Ministry of Natural Resources and member of the Peterborough Field Naturalists, Mike will chat about nearby wintering creatures and perhaps give a call out for screech owls. After the hike, enjoy a toasty campfire complete with marshmallows and hot apple cider. Be sure to dress warmly, bring a flashlight and if the snow is plentiful, bring your snowshoes. For more information call (705) 652-0747.
