I am always happy when I am drawing, cutting, pasting and painting. My dad worked at Domtar in Cornwall and there was always lots of paper around to draw on.

After high school, I attended U of T in Fine art. We raised a family in Ottawa and Toronto and we are now retired and living near Bethany, Ontario.

Throughout the years I pursued every opportunity to be involved in artistic endevours, but it wasn't until Christmas, 6 years ago, when my son presented me with a couple of canvases. The rest is history.

I now have a studio and have had shows and participate in the local studio tours (on Mother's Day weekend). Of course I am a multimedia person. I enjoy working with all.

My experience working on a project for Binney and Smith (Crayola) in product development was challenging and set me up in a frame of mind to be creative with materials.

I always have paintings available for viewing at my studio and am available for commissions for paintings as well as furniture "rescues".

Thank you Deb for sharing your story.

Those canvases were a great Christmas present idea from your son.

Looking forward to see your creative works on Friday night November 19 2010.
