We had a wonderful chance to visit one of many Kawartha sheep farms in this area.
The baby lambs in the video were just a day being weaned off of their mothers.
The sheep farmer told us that lambing season has always interesting events.
They would begin in earnest around the month of December and carry on until the end of February.
Sometimes by luck they would also try for a September lambing. It is not unusual for them to have 100 lambs on the ground during one of these eight-week lambing intervals.
Most Kawartha farmers lamb in the lovely springtime during the months of April and May.
