About the Artist

A lifelong passion for the beauty of nature and photography has in his retirement years led Graham to the magical world of watercolour.

His paintings are inspired by his own original photographs taken locally and during his travels across Europe and Canada.

In the beautiful Kawartha Lakes Region, where he makes his home, Graham paints his favourite topics: local landscapes, delicate florals, old farm buildings, wildlife, waterscapes and reflections.

Living in England from 1959 - 1971, Graham used black and white photography as a means to express his love for nature. A natural evolvement for Graham was to colour photography from which he gravitated to his most recent and enduring love - watercolours.

Graham first studied water colour at Durham College. During the past ten years he has studied and painted with several fine artists including the famous American Watercolour artist Zoltan Zebo

Watercolours provide Graham with the perfect medium to express how he experiences the world around him.

"I have discovered watercolour to be a luminous and exiting medium for expressing my passion and appreciation for all the beauty, joy and peace I am blessed with in my life. It is my sincere desire to bring these same qualities to the viewer through my artistic impressions".

Several of Graham's paintings have been awarded prizes in local juried shows and many of his works hang in private collections in Canada, USA and Europe.

Any interest in talking to a ladies group?
by: Sharon

Hello Graham

I was looking at your website and wondered if you would be interested in making at trip out to Lorneville next Thursday March 7th to talk about your art form for 20 minutes or so to a group of about 20 ladies. This is the Lorneville Argyle Women’s Institute. I am hosting next week’s meeting in my home at 7:00 and our topic of discussion is culture. I was hoping to get an local artist in to talk to us. I apologize for the late notice – I have had a cancellation.

This is a friendly group – mostly retired. There is coffee and dessert and a small gift for your effort. We are about 25 minutes outside of Lindsay – close to Woodville. I would pay for your gas if you are interested.

Thanks for considering this.
