wild turkey hunting season in the Kawartha Lakes region
A Wild Turkey in the
Kawartha Lakes region.

Turkey hunting in the Kawartha Lakes area helps keep the population under control. According to the National Wild Turkey Federation, an estimation of 70.000 to 100.000 Wid Turkeys are running wild in southern Ontario and the City of the Kawartha Lakes and has plenty for everyone.

We see many Wild Turkeys on the road around the wooded areas as we drive through the country side between Omemee and Bobcaygeon. Watch you don't run over them.
